same as ,on a match on hampton springs expecting a few showers as per forecast about 2.00pm.it was like a disaster movie gale force winds, hailstone and a massive thunder and lightning storm directly overhead.my brolly went to an early grave and steve may 3 pegs up from me had 3 skimmers just pop up dead in front of him.very scary

Thunder Lightening and Lashed it at Meadowlands . No4 broke clean off with cupping kit . Lads on next pegs rescued it Many thanks There was no forecast of that to my knowledge ??? Hacksaw and araldite for Sunday they haven’t got it wrong today !!! PS in Europe some organisers will stop a match if Lightening is over . To my knowledge no ones got a belt up the carbon in Britain but they have in Europe !!? 😮 😮

Whether there is a rule or not on stopping fishing with lightning around, I’d always put my pole or rod down and wait for the storm to pass. Better safe than sorry

Interesting replies I wonder what caused those skimmers to go belly up I bet that were spooky was it the lightening, our storm wasn’t electrical but when there’s thunder and lightening everyone should pack their poles away you don’t want to sit there waving a 13m conductor around. 😮

Getting battered by 35 foot waves and 80 mile an hour winds out here, the cod are having it but I’ve had to step up to a 1g float to present my single crab leg 😀 😀 😀
