I had one of those little beauties back in the seventies. It had that much winding power it called for help when I tried reeling in a pound perch. lol. Worst piece of tackle I’ve ever had.

                Thanx for the memory.

Was the deluxe version of the Black Prince the Intrepid Prince Regent, if so I had one, bought with my paper round money in the late 60s. Back to the origanal post Daiwa TDMs are a great workhorse reel and imo are up to most tasks.

Yes Badger, Intrepid did make the ‘Prince Regent’

Back to the Amorphous Whisker. At the time when they were on the market Daiwa had a dab bail arm automatic reel. I also had one of those and it served me well for years, although it was never as fashionable as the Mitchel Match, I loved it only stopped using it when it was nicked.
If you can lay your hands on one it will suit your rod well.
                    Good luck with your search.

by a whisker .I love the rod and just feel it deserves a better reel than i was using a quantum crypton rd 4000.cheers 😉
