  Certain American spam crap seems to be getting through onto really old posts for some reason, but I can’t see the amount that you are getting at, or like I say, have I missed some?

  The web is a massive place and its big enough for us, them and every one else.
  Weather you go there and pay, come here for free, or go anywhere else, so be it!
  Personally, I miss some of those guys, but it’s no longer like the Wild West, and that’s a good thing in my opinion.

  Its down to posters, if you post junk you get worse junk back. However some quality is usually met with same. That’s my experience, weekend evenings are best avoided after the drink has sunk in..

  I fully understand that sites have to be paid for to maintain their running costs,and would have no problem paying a sensible/practical membership to a regular updated site,and not just a blank page,or same post for weeks on end without regular additions and topics.
  but would also only pay to the sites actually designer,and not any moderation team,or member,who might have the option to just say sorry your face does not fit,but thanks for the money anyway.

  The only real reason that sites become splintered is mainly due to either cliques forming,resulting in more private pm.s than actual information sharing posts with other site members,and lack of threads because of this.and also many so called internet experts who only want to post to a selected minority of followers when they do well for the hollow respect they try and gain,but will not post when they do not win because they are too blinkered in their own mindset,and won’t therefore share mistakes with others to learn from.
  just my own opinion of course.

  Facebook is free and don’t get me started about MFS :rolleyes: 😮 Think they have there problems aswell but everyone to there own I suppose ! . Still plenty of info here but I think times have changed now where anglers just look in on a regular basis without posting . Simple Match fishing also very good site for info with zero hassle 😎
