Cheers

TF_budnuddParticipantFunny you should post this mike…
Was talking to Bob @Bob-co yesterday about these poles and he said that quite a few Airity owners swear the Pro X is the same pole just less spares package but better finish.
Being a tart i prefer the look of the Airity. The finish is far better than the original Tourney Pro even if its not as good as the Pro X.

TF_Mike_GlobeI had the same conversation with bob today mate, hence the post.
The spares don’t worry me as I’ve got 30 odd topkits but I don’t want to make a 2 grand mistake!
How was Langwith today btw?

TF_stavI went to fosters a couple of weeks ago with the intention of buying an airity, looked at it and the pro x, didn’t like either both felt a bit sloppy on the strike and no where as good as the original pro so thats what i came away with, don’t regret it for a moment. and saved £700 against the airity and £400 on the pro

TF_budnuddParticipantStav- ive got the TP and at 16m the Airity destroys it mate.
I reckon the TP is the best pole ever made (based on track record and fact its taken 5yrs to get near it) but after fishing long all day and then holding the Airity i was amazed.
If the Pro x is the same as the Airity (just different finsh and spares) then its just down to personal choice. Its the old win/win senario ~clap

TF_GALPSI have to agree with BudNud in that the Airity is truely awsome at 16mtrs!
Ive used it at places like Lindholme for F1s as well as Hallcroft for proper lumps up to 17lb! no problem.

TF_Mike_GlobeCheers lads, more food for thought!
What sort of price should I be looking to pay as I’m not finding anyone who wants to do much of a deal, even for a cash sale.
PM if you don’t want to publicise.

MethodmanI have got both poles and the Airity is the better by far in my opinion, its better balanced and stronger, but the X has one thing which all other daiwa poles dont and that is the smooth finish which comes into its own when your shipping on the butt secitons when its wet!

Mike let me know how you get on as i am looking for a good cash deal also, you should be looking at £ 2250 AS A STARTING PRICE FOR AN X and haggle them down.

SnaggyswimsI have got both poles. There is no noticable difference between the two and i personally prefer the proX. The main thing i dislike about the airity is its matt black finish. I do a lot of meat fishing in the summer months and i find the combination of matt black and meat grease make the pole unbearable to handle in hot weather. The pole got that hot on one occasion i actually ended up with burn marks on my elbow!
The only difference worth mentioning between the two poles is the airitys better top 4’s package but you pay for these because the pole is £300 quid dearer than the proX. -

TF_NigeCMike.
FWIW mate I’d go for the pro X. I’ve had the original pro for a couple of years and THE only problem with it is the finish.
When I upgrade it will be to a Pro X.
If you have a load of topkits don’t forget there is (or was going to be) a pole only version which I believe was going to be around £1999
