On breakfast TV this morning there was an article on invasive aquatic plants, in particular Parrot’s Feather in the New Forest, which are invading British waterways. It also showed a picture of Floating Pennywort, another invasive species.
This seems to be the plant that has been responsible for choking the margins and some of the best swims on the Calder around Wakefield, and presumably elsewhere, last year. It has all died back for winter but I’m sure it will be back with a vengeance soon, if this weather ever improves.
Is the control of this weed the responsibility of British Waterways? Can anyone on here point me in the right direction to try to get something done about it?
I appreciate that the problem may already be being addressed, but I’d like some assurance that it is.

my thought would be too contact the EA fisheries officer for your area ,then if its not part of their jurisdiction ,they should point you in the right direction
