It’s all systems go for the Amble Open on Sunday January 4th, with £600 on offer to the winner.
Foresters Life has stepped forward as the main sponsor, with prizes for the heaviest bag, heaviest flatfish and heaviest fish.
Note that to avoid the needless killing of small fish, the size limit for flounders has been raised to 27cm. Anglers are encouraged to keep all flatfish caught alive, so that they can be returned after the weigh-in.
The boundaries are Lynemouth pipe to Seahouses south pier, excluding Amble Pier and foundations, and all jetties in the Rivers Aln and Coquet with fishing from 11.00 am to 3.00pm.
Registration is from 9am to 11am at Radcliffe Club, Amble on the day with an entry fee of £11. The weigh-in takes place at Radcliffe Club from 3pm to 4pm. Hot food will be available before and after the competition.
