The weather has been altering water temperatures to massive swings, dropping as much as 8.1 deg in cold days then rising up again to 20 degs, the silvers are through spawning however carp and tench are not all through yet with the drops in water temperatures i.e. from Friday water temp was 17.8 to Sunday Morning 12.9 a drop of 4.9 deg in water temp happened –fish do not know if they are coming or going with these large temperature fluctuations, catches are better after the water has warmed up at the end of the day before any chilly nights drop water temperatures. If you are a season ticket holder take advantage of the light early mornings and light evenings to bag up when the fish feed very well.

When the fish are switched on to feed some excellent catches are being produced, and its tough when not switched on but silvers are a good option to go for when carp switch of feeding.

        Lookout

Lookout has produced some good weights with 74lb of silvers on Fridays match also 70 lb of carp in the same match. Some high numbers of very good crucians being caught as well as tench that have yet to spawn, big bags of skimmers and also big bags of rudd, are also being caught, Ide, Orfe, Perch, Roach, and some exceptional bags of Carp.

Methods and baits need to be varied if one method stops catching, change to another.

Pellet waggler has done very well with 10mm angel pellets fed and 10mm banded on the hook. On the bomb use conker a 10mm angel pellet banded and covered in paste made from 3mm angel pellets to far bank start high and tight then move down band till you get catching. Chopped worm and chopped caster are working wonders at the moment, Paste made out of angel 3mm pellets doing well as is pellet on the hook as well as feeding pellets (angel only allowed.) Cubes of luncheon meat on the hook and feed pellets, and mussel, prawn, cheese, also berries all working well at the moment, sweetcorn on the hook works at times and not at other times. Make sure you have a range of baits and its warm enough for liquid additives to enhance flavours and attract fish. For float rod try tight in margins of the first shelf and about 10 ft out of the 2nd shelf at dead bottom, or at 15 ft straight ahead try up in the water for rudd, on pole try margins, 2nd shelf or out in from even the to
