        Fish week 1,047 (season 17,537) Returns 260 (4,280) Rod average 4.02 (4.09)
The best fish of the week was a cracking 7lb 7oz Brown taken by Northborough (Peterborough) angler and season ticket holder, Keith Jones. Keith, who was boat fishing the South Arm, took the fish with a humungus lure on a Di5 line. The best Rainbow of the week fell to Mr B Williams of Gwent who took a superb fish for 6lb 2oz.

The frustrating wet, windy weather we have experienced in June has driven the boat anglers to fish in the main basin. Bank anglers have been taking fish off the Normanton Bank, especially last Thursday evening when fish were moving and being caught on dry fly. A few fish have been taken off New Zealand Point.

2,000 more Rainbows were stocked last week bringing the total to 51,165 for the season, with another 2,000 fish going in on Monday.

There are plenty of over wintered fish being caught – a large proportion 3lb plus and around 10% weighing over 4lb. The biggest bag of the week was caught by Bob Wallinger. Bob caught 8 fish for 32lb 14oz. Bob took this tremendous bag by fishing a very large silver tube on an intermediate line fishing the central areas of the reservoir. The recent unsettled weather has made conditions challenging.

Bank anglers had some good fishing this week, mainly from the South and bowl of the dam and Marlow Stones. The most productive method for the bank anglers has been floating lines with GRHE, pheasant tail nymphs and shrimp patterns.

Boat anglers have also enjoyed good sport on a variety of methods – either Di5 and Di7 lines with Montanas, Pitsford Pea, black sparklers and orange/Tequila blobs or floaters and midge tip lines with black or red buzzers, GRHE, diawl bachs and crunchers. The main areas for the boat anglers this week have been the entire Dam, Deep Water Point, the Seat and Hill Farm.

        Fish week 526 (Season 8,842) Returns 220 (2,228) Rod average 2.3(3.9)
Pitsford Water continues to fish well despite the poor weather conditions. Fish have been found using a variety of methods this week. Buzzers, crunchers and small damsels have been the most productive, mainly fished on floating or midge tip lines, although some anglers have preferred an intermediate in the blustery conditions. Wet flies have also produced some cracking bags of fish this week. Dabblers in the surface or good old traditional patterns within the top 4 feet have seen anglers smiling as they walk off the pontoon after a day of good sport.

        Competition news
Members of Mid Northants Trout Fishing Association celebrated their 60th anniversary on Sunday 24th. Anglers enjoyed a day of good fishing with a lunchtime barbeque and evening dinner laid on by the club for members old and new.

Heavy rain and high winds have made fishing awkward this week. Calmer days have seen anglers catching good numbers of fish. Anglian Water employee, Mr Sells, and his boat partner had some lovely fish to 6lb on lures, nymphs. Season ticket holder Doug Whibley of Wollaston had six fish on dries. Ravensthorpe regular Mick Griffin took four fish on buzzers. High winds have made presentation difficult but more gentle winds and warmer days will see fish moving everywhere.
