Rutland Water

Rutland Water hosted a successful Fur and Feather on Sunday. 34 Anglers came from as far afield as Kent and fished in testing conditions with the wind making life difficult. Anglers adapted to the conditions and then two hours later the wind veered and forced them to move away from the spots where they had been catching. The water also coloured up. In spite of the weather there were some good fish recorded with Lee Henfrey netting the best Rainbow at 4lb 7½oz (taken in Whitwell Creek). The match was won by Andrew Flitcroft with two fish for 5lb 8oz. Andrew’s best fish, taken off Finches Bank, came to the scales at 3lb 14oz. Second place went to Lee Henfrey with his lovely specimen of 4lb 7½oz. Young angler Jason Pusey took third place with two fish for 4lb 4½oz.

Pitsford Water and Ravensthorpe Reservoir

Pitsford Fishing Lodge is now closed, re-opening February 2015. Bank fishing at Pitsford continues to 31 January and at Ravensthorpe until 31 December.
