I have recently been considering parting with a large wad of cash to purchase a top of the range pole.
So i was quite interested to read the Angling times Mark Sawyer “live testing” of the maver 421.
Now i am sure the 421 is a serious piece of kit but do we really need mr Sawyer to go into Jackanory mode to convince us?
Firstly he appears to have a problem knowing when he is fishing at 16m and when he has only got 11.5 meters in his hand.
It must be some pole at 16m if this is the case,if you read the write up he waxes lyrical about how he hooks a carp at 16 meters leans into it and lifts it clear of the water.
Although the acompanying picture shows him clearly fishing with 11.5 meters of pole with three but sections neatly positioned behind him.
The caption on the picture reads “The pressure is piled on- nobody dreamed what would happen next”.
Maybe he realised his mistake and shoved the other three sections on!
Come on are we that gullable? sadly the AT and MR SAWYER must think so.
The power of advertising in the name of an unbiased review i am afraid.
