Thank you very much for your application for the Fred J Taylor Award on behalf of Sankey Angling Club.
We received a small number of very high quality applications for the award, all of which were entirely eligible to win, but I’m sorry to tell you that we have selected another nominee as the winner. The work that Sankey Angling Club has done at Dimmingsdale Reservoir over many years is highly commendable, in particular the engagement with members of the local community of all ages. It is very impressive that all of the work you have done is funded by anglers themselves; this demonstrates the point we are trying to make by creating this award: anglers do more to protect and improve the water environment than any other group.
We will be announcing the winner at the Game Fair on 24 July and in a press release.
We will publicise your work on our web site some time after that date in a list of runners-up.
