Report on the latest Arrow Valley Lake open match run by the Redditch Federation of Anglers Saturday December 1st, 2012.
Following the coldest night of the winter so far the 21 anglers taking part found the lakes prolific bream shoals in very unco-operative mood, and, following good mid week sport on the pole it was small groundbait feeders fished at 20-30metres with maggot hook bait that dominated the match.
In fact virtually all the fish caught were taken on that method.
Local angler Peter Millard took full advantage of his draw on form peg 69 on the bluebell bank to take the honours with 50 odd skimmers for the only 20lb plus catch of the day.
Runner-up Trevor Chalk was further along the same bank on end peg 52 where he winkled out 14lb 3oz of skimmers ahead of Peter Morris with 12lb 14oz and Simon Chidler on 9lb 5oz.
