Report on Redditch Federation/AVVC Open Arrow Valley Lake 15.6.13
Another excellent turn-out of 37 anglers found the lake fishing reasonably well in most areas and although not massive, some good catches were made from most areas of the lake with a close finish for the main awards.
Maver angler Chris Bradney took pole position again following up his May match win with another solid performance. This time Chris moved just one peg along the bank to peg 55 on the bluebell bank. Fishing a method feeder cast tight to the island with boilies on the hook Chris took 16 good bream to 4lb for a 39lb 12oz return.
Well known Starlets man Joe Roberts was pegged over on peg 15 on the Shakespeare bank where he fed chopped worm and fished the pole at 13metres with dead red maggots or a piece of worm on the hook to take an excellent 36lb 4oz catch of skimmer bream for runner-up spot.
Just along the same bank on peg 23 it was method feeder for third placed Mark Dowery with a catch of 34lb 14oz of bream, ahead of Simon Chidler who also fished the method for a 33lb 14oz catch, Simon included a couple of carp for 19lb amongst his otherwise all bream bag.
Paul Cook took the fifth and last main prize place, with 32lb 13 oz from peg 67.
