tailsHello, does anyone know if you can claim points for this if the result has not been published, often match organisers do not send the results in to the press. I know with the kamasan you can chase up and claim points which were missed. Is it possible to send results through yourself, if the venue or organiser does not?

TF_fiskyYes you can – results will be credited to the table even if they are too late to be published.
AT has put a large sum of money into the final of this competition and to help it all work we need anglers to help us, by taking responsibility to get results to us with correct counties/attendances etc, and informing us if they are listed in the wrong county. If you PM me your location, I’ll give you the number of your local results correspondent.

TF_Waveney OneServes you right for fishing rubbish venues Alex. The Suffolk Water Park results ALWAYS get sent in, not always printed, but is down to editorial judgement.
Perhaps the AT ought to insist that only those people who buy the newspaper get points. That way you guys could read the contact number for Ken Wade and the other guys..

AlexParticipantIt is nice when a venue/organiser goes to the trouble of reporting the results every week, although it doesnt mean the other venues are crap… just lazier organisers perhaps~shh Any matches that i have run have been reported, but as you say not always published. I will be making the effort to send my results from other venues through now that the AT have come up with this competition… and i will continue to buy the AT on an occassional basis!

TF_Waveney OneWell you should get a few points for last weekends efforts anyway. To be fair it does take a lot of effort to get the results in especially by the cutoff time so not everyone can make the effort after the weigh-in, payout, etc.

TF_Waveney OneI hope that it goes well too. I would hate to have to do all the collating though. Every match above 10 peggers and down to 8th place. It will favour the local venue ‘expert’ who frames in 10 peg knock ups week in week out though.
Maybe it will encourage everyone to weigh in as well.
It will suit the Water Park really well! he he.

TF_Waveney OneDoes anyone know who is doing the collation of the points? Is it someone at AT or is it the local match correspondents?

TF_Waveney OneGraham has fished a few matches and he does a bit of ‘Product Testing’ for Peter I believe. I hadn’t thought about the Ivan Marks thing but perhaps I should have a look and see if there are any tickets left.
To be honest, the way my fishing is going at the moment I would only be using a ticket that someone who can fish could have had! It should be a good match though.

TF_kwadejHi Joff,
Thankfully I just get the results in, but there has been a massive response, and its taking a lot of time to sort all the matches out, big and small as the top eight anglers are needed, even to a 10 pegger.~think
I do however have a set of beads that makes life a little easier when counting these days. I do hear of new things that add up for you but for now US in Peterborough will be sticking to the tried and trusted finger method.
I know you have trouble getting results in, but just wait and see what happens when you start running matches again, you will be asked time and time again why your match results are not going in, and Joe Star is not getting his points.
I know it takes time for new toys to get into the Loughborough area, but why not try a 5 min call on the new thing called a mobile phone.
If you match finishes at say 4pm with a bit of luck you may just be able to get it into me between pints before 7pm!!!!!!!!!
Have a nice weekend~shh

TF_Waveney OneNice response Ken.
It must be making your life more difficult with all the increased results. It will make it difficult to get through on the phone with all the reports going in so I will continue to send it by email if that is OK. I send an email to all the anglers I have an email address for anyway.
Fortunately here in Suffolk we have the facilities!!
One of my pet hates is the Tuesday publication date for the AT. I would like to see it return to the traditional Wednesday date and give us all a little more time.
I really think that the ‘race to the newsagents’ with the other weekly paper is ridiculous and is unlikely to add much to the circulation. Surely what would be better for circulation is to have up to date match results. The AT has far more match reports but they are not always for the latest weekend.

SteveShow do you find out what points you’ve got? is it online somewhere or only in the AT?
I should have some for framing at Viaduct on good friday because the lad running the matches asked me what county i was from, but i also framed at Tunnel barn Farm on Bank holiday monday but he didn’t ask what county i was from.

Andy GParticipantDo points count from individual leagues where the initial entry is open. However the majority of anglers will be the same save for fillers in when someone is unavailable?
-
16/04/2010 at 2:21 pm #102338
TF_Waveney OneI’ll probably give them a ring then Joff.
AndyG, I don’t see why not. I am sure that all the matches with 10 or more anglers count.
