Angling Trust & Canal & River Trust sixth Stillwater Championship qualifier held at Kiveton Fishery

The sixth Angling Trust & Canal and River Trust Stillwater Championship qualifier was held on Saturday 27th July 2013 at Kiveton Fishery, Sheffield. It was a hot day with just an occasional breeze to put a ripple on the water and encourage the fish to feed, however, on the day it was carp that dominated the weights.
Pole and pellet fishing dominated the tactics with sweet corn and luncheon meat proving to be good alternative hook baits. However, a few anglers also caught on the method feeder and pellet waggler as alternative methods.
Winner on the day was Greg Proffitt (GOT Baits) fishing peg 23 with a weight of 30.640 kg. Greg was able to locate a few bigger carp among his catch that gave him a slight edge on the day.
Second place went to Stephen Openshaw ( Lingmere Fisheries) fishing peg 30 with a weight of 28.980 kg. Again pole fished pellets for carp was the successful formula. In third place was Ryan Wilton ((Barnsley Juniors) with 28.160 kg from peg 22.
The Angling Trust would like to thank the fishery owners who kindly donated their match peg fees to the England Ladies Coarse International team.
