TF_sheriffHaving been involved in much debate last year
over the condition of the river we are back their again
to practice this weekend to a river where comments have
been made thats its even worse.Ive managed to get 12 of the lads up for sat and then fish the organised open on the sunday……bait booked ..hotel sorted…rigs and laccy done, only to find the match as been cancelled due to no one wanting to go and event clashing with the nationals, evesham, ACA masters.
Apparently no one wants to go until the weekend before the Final on the 12th september.
Now told that cos no competitors then no Blood worm and Joker will be available.~think ~think
Me think its time for a new venue and a proper date where nothing clashes, its starting to do my head in already and i aint even got their yet!!!

TF_joffmiestersorry to hear that mate we are involved with the national and evesham but not the AT final but to be fair i would of struggled to get anyone up there to practice with all the practicing for the other matches
you must take racks though on the day ~sick ~sickand your right too many things are clashing the day before is the indivdual national on the shroppie
we have just had the same thing in our summer league one team dropped out completely last week as they had anglers fishing the 3,000 pound final at lake view what can you do ~sick -

TF_sheriffJoff,
Last year i stuck up for A/T team fishing, this year my views are changing and thinking is it all worth it,
It needs a proper re vamp to encourage anglers and teams to stick with it,
i honestly dont know what the answer is….everything seems to go ok until we get to the final~think ~think

sheriff its not all the AT fault the matches looked like they had been booked what i think it is this year is the costs even the big teams are struggling to get anglers up there
the calendar is full of matches the problem i see is alot of theses matches are add to an already full calendar late on we’d of loved to be there this year but like i said the practice would of been hard
the other side is team members often put there own matches first its not like the old days where team fishing was like the premiership and everyone wanted to get in the team and the only way was to practice now most do there own thing and if the choice is a quids worth of pellets to £40 bait bill you know which way they will go
like i said here in leicestershire we are spoilt for choice with good venues thats why i run the matches the summer league generates nearly £5000 throughout the series of eight matches and money is shared out really good ie a section of nine anglers we pay two out £30 £20 and so on yet this year lake view organised a series of qualifiers for a final that involved £3000 sat,sun and weds it soon had anglers qualifying from our summer league remembering that the dates for the summer league had been arranged well before the season started and would you believe it the final fell on a summer league round we were one whole team missing and had to make numbers up for another team so it shows where team fishing is going matei’ve had ups and downs with ken but i must say its a thankless job organising matches you have more kicks than you do have hand shakes
your let down more times than a bouncy castle and i bet you are as a team captain -

pellethead76please dont shoot me down in flames 🙂 i know theres the great debate on natural venues and commercials but isnt it about time someone thought it out and either got a proper natural venue thats not choked wiv weed or instead of the whole comp dying a death look at an obvious alternative, wouldnt barston/packington
its central ish and u could make the final a 2day doo dah silver day 1 and anythink goes day 2 and the lads in the bigger squads would get more of a chance as i know some of these teams that qualify for the finals have some of the best silver fish anglers around and some have the best all rounders around only a thought ~sick ~sick ~sick -

TF_joffmiestergood point~clap ~clap ~clap
better with no practice or just two practice matches and nothing elselook at the UKS this year top competition and there is a waiting list no one is worried about fishing against the best commercial anglers in the country
YET turn it into a team competition half would pull out because the top teams are that good
thats the problem team fishing is facing personally i look the buzz that surrounds big team matches and want to be in everyone but then i like team fishing full stop! its not the way anglers are brought up now ~sick ~sick
