Fishing a match soon on a water with no carp, too many silvers that are too small to bother with, and a head of skimmers and tench that make the weights. Key is to avoid the roach and rudd and target the skimmers and barbel specifically. Anyone got any thoughts/experience of this scenario?

We fish peatling pools and c lake is full of barbel chub and carp the best way on there is a gallon of live reds fed tight to margin or in feeder chucked to Island don’t know if this helps

Big pot 50/50 mix of live and dead maggot bottom of near shelf you can add a bit of hemp if you want to keep cost down a bit, be prepared to follow the barbel into the margins as the day moves on. That’s what works on my local , just fish each pot out or feed again whenever you get bitted out.
