Won the winter league from this lake yesterday with 66lb. It’s a lovely lake which is split into three arms but there will be some pegs you have no chance from. If you draw the right hand bank looking up from the car park, there are a lot of fish in the reeds pegs 32, 34, 35, 36, you need to fish tight in here down the edge, might catch an odd silver in open water whilst resting. If you draw main bay i.e 7-16 and 30, not as many fish here at present, fish micros in PVA or Method and maybe a pole line for big ide, chub and skimmers, loosefeeding maggots and fishing a really light strung rig. Might even catch these shallow.
Pegs 20/21 okay long pole to the island and snags down the edge. 26 and 27 have some stick ups, this is where I caught. I fished super tight red hydro, 0.20 to 0.18 hooklength and a beefy size 18 hook with corn. You need to have your wits about you and stand up + lift when you hook one, or ship like mad on strike! Depends where the snag is and where your fishing in relation to it. Most carp 2-4lb but had a 9lb F2 sunday so odd big ones.
Pegs 2-6, 17-18 and 24-25 hopeless don’t put them in!
