I would use either a Preston PR36 or a Kamasan B911 eyed for fine line hair rigs

I thought the Guru QM1’s were more of a heavy duty Method feeder hook. Do you use them on the pole?

The Guru qm1 is designed to be used on non striking/self hooking/semi bolt, bolt fishing rigs, method feeder, straight lead etc.this is due to the circle shape pattern of the hook, striking with circle shaped hooks results in hook pulls due to the nature of the hooking method.so would not be a suitable pattern for normal hair rigging on the pole.the Guru MWG is a more suitable pattern to use.and Drennan have a few patterns suitable as well.

QM1 definitely not a pole hook but very good in larger sizes (10s & 12s) for bomb work, I havn’t found the smaller sizes very reliable, had loads of hook pulls!!!

I use hairs on the pole all the time and have found Guru MWG & LWG an excellent pattern with a very reliable hook hold (provided you get the hair length right).
MWG also excellent bomb and method hook. This all about proper carp fishing by the way not them silly F1’s which need a much more refined hook pattern. like those mentioned in other posts, 911’s various.

Try the guru pellet waggler hooks. They are fine for pole work with a hair.
If you are fishing for F1’s then tie the hair as close as possible to the hook as the F1’s tend to mouth the bait instead of sucking the bait right in.

I tend to use the Guru pellet waggler hooks for banded pellets on the pole in a size 20. Razor sharp little hooks which are ideal for lifting a dropping baits all day

I bought a pack of these in size 18 out of curiosity. I used a micrometer to check the gauge and they are a much finer wire than the PR36 and the B911.
Really nice little eyed hook that will be spot on for banded 6mm pellet for skimmers.
                            I’m a convert!

I was put onto the middy km-1 and km-2 hooks. There good enough for me.

Sharp hooks are always the best ones to use IMO
