well i would consider second hand and the poles id be looking at would be
daiwa pro x and garbo gmax m1
if how ever you decide on a new one then id look at
          daiwa whisker
gmax m3 aliitle more than £1500 tho
im sure theres plenty of poles at this price with very little to choose between them, its a personale thing and only you can decide whats right for you,so go and have a look what your local match anglers are using, and ask the question if you had to buy a pole out of your own hard earned cash what would they buy and and y? good luck this topic is a mine field.

New Id look at the Daiwa Whisker or G20 which would give u some spare money to buy some extra kits.
Or well worth a look in the new Colmic Airon F33.

Used, Tricast Trilogy, M1, Airity, Tourney Pro – or my Colmic x5000 which I will be selling soon!

I don’t usually get involved with these sort of discussions, but I bought the new Daiwa Whisker during the spring, and I can’t recommend it enough. I’ve landed fish to double figures, use at 16m regularly and for long periods, the spares package is great (I use it mainly on commercials).A lot of guys that use more expensive poles have had a go with it and were equally impressed. I would suggest you have a serious look at the Whisker I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Better than whisker and g20. My previous two poles were tourney pro and g8 and I think it’s better than both of them as well.

You won’t beat the Daiwa Whisker in that price range. You should be able to pick one up for around £1550. Plenty of spares and easily fisable at 16m.

I understand what people say about second hand poles. But remember no gaurantee.
