Big Bore v. Power Top

Hello mates:
Usually spare Kits of carp poles includes Power Top 3 Kit (up to 20s) and Big Bore Top 2 (also up to 20s). What are their differences in terms of weight, stiffness, balance and strength?.

am, i prefer to use bbpk’s with my pole as in my opinion they balance the pole better at longer lengths because they are lighter than the kits that came with the pole. Not had any break as yet. I do only use upto purple hydro and will only use original kits,although i do know people that take the no1 out of the match kit. Not something i would do

I agree with daiwadavid bbpk kits every time ive used them for the last 2 years on my g8 and unlike the g8 top kits not one as broken

how do you elasticate the big bore is it just through the big bore or through the no 3 as well?

hi fred depends on the elastic
hollow through just the big bore and solid elastic through both the bbpk and a number 3 section

i’m one off those some that take the no1 out of match kits on tournie, got two with purple hydro and think kits are mega strong, mind my previus pole was a g995 so that may explain. had no problems yetat all, no4 looks the weakest part of the pole but still strong compared to most top poles. can see the use of BBPK’s if ultimate lengthwas a concern. but it isn,t for me if i want 14.5 or 16m i just add the half butt

Fred I like to put elastic through both parts with a winder bung.Hydro from white to purple.Crows foot with dacron glued in.
