Fish week 1,574 (season 30,290) returns 371 (7,257) rod average 4.24(4.17)The best fish of the week was a super Brown of 7lb 9 1/8oz taken by Neil Squires of Scopwick, Lincs. Neil was boat fishing and used a white minkie booby.
Kev Bennett had the best Rainbow of the week – a cracking 4lb 12½oz rainbow whilst fishing in the RAF central league match last Monday. All 14 competitors caught 8 fish limits on the day.
Rutland Water is fishing extremely well with a good number of limits coming out including many fish averaging 2lb. Boats have fared best with the main basin the place to be. Most methods are working with mini lures, blobs, boobies etc and nymphs, diawl bach, crunchers and hares ears also producing.Fish are being taken in the main basin and off the Old Hall green bank area and steady numbers of fish were seen moving off Laxhill / Manton Bay plus the middle of the North Arm.
Bank angler Nick Evans took four quality rainbows on dry fly along the Normanton bank. Stockie Bay also produced fish last Thursday (in a lot of rain!). Wardens reported seeing fish moving off the bank on Sunday up the North Arm between the Finches through to Carrot Creek

Best boat areas The main basin, bottom of the south arm. Fish being taken in the North Arm

Best methods Bank – nymphs, dries, fry patterns

Tuesday Evening Boat League
Season ticket holder Paul Kirkup won last week’s match with an 8 fish limit weighing 20lb 3¼ oz. The top six anglers on the night all weighed in eight fish limits over 18lb. Altogether an incredible 118 fish were taken by 18 anglers giving an outstanding rod average of 6.5. With only one week to go the anglers in with a chance of taking the overall league title are Keith Jones, Richard Cooper, Phil Longstaff, Mick Bennett, Paul Wild and Paul Kirkup.Results week 11

3rd Fish Hawks ‘B’ 15 fish for 29lb 5¾ozTop individual was Invicta’s John Mees (Senior Warden Grafham Water) with 8 fish weighing 16lb 11oz. The best fish – a 4lb 6oz Rainbow, was taken by Baz Reece of Crawley.

Anglian Water Loch Style 4 man team 15 August. Each angler pays £5 pool money and £12.50 towards boat. Permit £19 for non season ticket holders.
