TF_One fishWith a lot of venues holding big carp hook pellets are getting larger, what size/type of pellets do you use and what about the drilled boilies?. I am not keen on fishing the snowman although I have had a dabble on double 8mms.Mostly for use on the lead but tips for the pole would also be good.Any advice welcome.

TF_One fishNot if big pellets are needed, I think its because they fill up my holdall too quickly so I never use them. ( until now ! )

SteveSi use skrettings mainly, but have used some dynamite baits ones as well. i was using skrettings 11mils down viaduct the other week when i saw you there.
i usually hair a band cos i was finding lassoos were becoming a pain coming undone or breaking in the net tied to a 12 drennan carp feeder barbless for 11mils and a size 14 for 8mils. As for boiles i use ringers 8mils whites mostly but sometimes reds. I use a 16 drennan carp feeder barbless with a bayonet for these.

TF_One fishI have been catching f1’s on 8 and 10mm’s around the pound to two mark, wondered if I should be going 12 to 14 for bigger carp or double baits?

SteveSDunno about that mate could just be whats in your peg…. they must be hungry to take that size of pellet/boilie, I was catching 8oz skimmers on 8mil boilies on a local lake last yr.
you could sit it out on a big bait and miss out on the smaller weight building fish that are willing to feed in your peg whilst your doing it?….. do you not catch any proper carp in amongst them?

TF_One fishAt the stafford fisho sat behind my mate for the last hour or so, he went down the edge on hard 8mm’s feeding the same.Five carp and then roach and skimmers killed him, changed to 10’s and increased the feed no better.I could not get my head around that.
