When fishing for a mixed silver net of fish this time of year, is it best to use a groudbait or just plain damp leam mix for your feed balls.

        All tips would be welcome

Try both, see what the fish prefer. Have a groundbait line to one side and leam to the other.

Also, take some maggots and pinkies as a change bait as you can get a bigger stamp of fish by fishing say caster over the top.

If you’re using groundbait, don’t put your joker in until you are ready to feed it as the salt content will kill (disintegrate) your joker.

this time of year i would just go down the double leam route (damp/grey).

safer than risking groundbait this time of year.

had up to 15lb of roach in matches doing this.

use soft elastic like a no 3 latex.

                slim bristled floats etc.

                0.10/0.12 main line to a 0.07 or 0.08 bottom.

green gammas size 24 are good hooks as any!

                TF_Nigel.

Groundbait is good when its mild, 50/50 or 2 leam to 1 GB (1 bag of each, leam is a 2 kilo bag), or when its solid.

When its realy cold, or hard, then a neat Leam is better, and wont fill the fish up, as there is no food in the leam.
