my local fishery fishes very hard in winter its a old quarry with depths up to 28 ft deep contains mixed fish from silvers to barbel and large carp. in the summer we catch up in the water on caster and we have a good head of roach, problem is in winter its as if someone nets it and it goes really hard 6lb a good weight, you can wait 4 hrs for a bite sometimes. question is would b+j be the answer and would it mean the fish would only feed on this. weve put it to the commitee before and they say it would wreck the place however they are very stuck in their ways. any thoughts fm anyone

Absoloute rubbish. It is just a fine natural bait, it is in the water anyway, the joker is a midge larvae. It wil not make the fishing harder, it will make it better. It wont fill the fish up so much, and will catch smaller fish, as well as natural feeding fish.
Hard balls of Grondbait with some double leam to get it down, and the fishing will improve, if there are some fish there.
I cant see why it is banned so much.

              Try it and see.

                  andy1fish,
why don’t you and the rest of the match group get together and suggest to your Committee that you have a trial for just one year ( jan to march as you suggest) to prove or disprove your theories.
                  good luck buddy.corm.

Andy, try adding some 3mm aquarium gravel to your punch, this will get it to the bottom in no time, so wont drift all over the swim… good luck mate.

possable reason for it getting banned on most matches is the people who can afford it use it and catch, leaving the people who cannot afford it having dry nets. my point is….cost. my opinon is it should be allowed, is a natural bait afterall
