bloodworm and punch

is it worth using bloodworm with bread on the cut as a change bait, punch works well on my local canal and was thinking about how to keep fish coming when it gets hard, any ideas?

Use to do that regular where allowed.
The stripey’s are never far away from a punch line, I used to have another line about 10 or 12 foot along from my punch line for B/J, mostly had stripey’s when I was sure that the Roach shoal had been decimated.
I always fed the punch line 1st for a couple of hours to catch the Roach before starting up the B/J line, then if I caught well on the B/J, I would introduce some over the old punch line and pick a few Roach and Perch of that and alternate between the 2 lines for the last hour.
It worked quite well on the Coventry canal around Nuneaton.

I’ve pinched many a valuable points fish by fishing punch over a worm line or vice versa.

Mix a tiny pinch of raw joker in with some sloppy licky should get a few fish interested.

usually i like to keep them apart from each other coz in most of the canal matches i’ve fished(odd one here and there) the punch is good in the first half of the match, then your joker lines takes over(usually the one u’ve fed with 2x 250ml pots of raw in 2-2.5ft of water).

Tomorrow I shall mostly be fishing a la Crustoid. Punch line and Joker lines. However, track will have dead joker with a few casters and some minced dendras and will hopefully produce some fat skimmers or a couple of old Bill.

Expanding on Oggy’s comments, a guy we both know had a great record by starting with punch picking off dumpies then when the stamp started to go he’d run a few joker thro’ his licki then and alternate trying to pick off the better stamp… Told ’em to much Mick?
