The stripey’s are never far away from a punch line, I used to have another line about 10 or 12 foot along from my punch line for B/J, mostly had stripey’s when I was sure that the Roach shoal had been decimated.
I always fed the punch line 1st for a couple of hours to catch the Roach before starting up the B/J line, then if I caught well on the B/J, I would introduce some over the old punch line and pick a few Roach and Perch of that and alternate between the 2 lines for the last hour.
It worked quite well on the Coventry canal around Nuneaton.
