Anybody got any info on Billhook Lake? (Not sure how many there are in the country but this one is in Hampshire!)

Got a Godalming AS club match there on Sunday, and having not seen the place any advice will be gratefully received!

Fish a method to the islands tight. Feed plenty of 4mm pellets at 8m and fish soft 8mm over the top. If you have an inside feature like reeds or tree/bush then fish that. Feed plenty. Paste is good as well.

You will catch skimmers. bream and carp. There are some lumps down the inside.

Thanks! I’m going to take a range of baits/gear to cover a few options and hopefully it will be a good day!

Just read the rules again on the website – this one seems a bit harsh: “SONUBAITS ARE BANNED FROM THESE LAKES.”

Not sure what to make of that!!!

you have to carry your nets separately as well – not in your upc net bag or any other type.

great place though – some real lumps that go a bit too – nice thing about top lake is there aren’t that many small silvers which gives you a few more bait options.

My mate has won a lot of money on there recently fishing corn and ground bait down the edge, you’ll need about 1kilo of crumb and 8-10 tins of corn.

Thanks for all of the advice – in the end I drew peg 3, caught a few on the method/straight lead in the first 4 hours, then had a good last 2 hours down the edge with worm over groundbait. In the end I had 75lb, enough for second behind Ian Dixon who had 125lb!!!
