          Hi Petebm.

Lake 8 is one of the new Snake Lakes at the very front of the complex before you drive down to the cafe; about 13-16m wide, with lots of bare banks across and features to go at.

They restocked it with PROPER carp last year, mainly commons of about 5lb. I did well there last year fishing across on paste as the standard snake lake approach of tapping in micors and fishing expandas over the top wasn’t right (in my eyes) due to the size of the fish. There are a lot of small ide to target during the middle of the match, of a few ounzes each but there are thousands of them. Pegs with obvious features, like peg 12 with the bridge, hold good chub of 1-2lb which can be caught shallow. Some pegs are full of reeds, which require proper gear, but they shouldn’t be too bad at this time of year.

Winning weights can be anything up to 100lbs, but I’d say 40-60lb would be good. There are a couple of dire draws and some obvious fliers, but when I fished it regularly I honestly thought I could frame off any peg. Make sure your definitely just on 8, because if you have 9 as well this is different and F1 orientated…

            Mike. You’re a star nice 1!!!

Glad I asked now… I’ll make sure I’ll take some heavy gear now

Much appreciated I’ll let you know how I get on.

            Cheers

            Pete.
