Gareth, I have to say that the Dave Lane ‘Safe’ leadcore clip rig is not safe at all, mate. Leadcore should only be used in helicopter rigs setups so the hooklink can discharge from the leadcore should a breakage occur. If the hooklink cannot free itself from the leadcore, a fish could tether up just as easily without the lead on the leader as it could with the lead on it. Leadcore does not automatically straighten when bent and try wrapping leadcore around something twice and see how much resistance is still there compared to mono or tubing in the same situation.
