greybeardParticipantSteve, used 4mm + 6mm for first time today, they worked well but one reservation. Huge variation in size between 4’s and 6’s. How about adding a 5mm to bridge the gap?

greybeardParticipantSteve, first impression very possitive, tell Phil I reckon you could use a 14/Tubertini 808 with the 6mm whereas a 4mm would be more suited to a 20/808. I’m sure he knows already!!

MrFoxmanimo there’s is no point of a 5mm version. 4mm and 6mm covers everything, 4’s for small fish, 6’s for big fish.
Well done Phil and co for producing such great pellets.

As I said earlier the 4mm pellet would suit a 20 hook while the 6mm could hide a 14 hook.
I would like to be able to offer rigs with 18 and 16 hooks attached for the pellet. I could use VDE Elite 4mm and 6mm which size-wise would fill the gap between the New Generation offerings but would prefer to stick to one pellet (hopefully Phil’s) -

TF_BucksParticipantI used the 4mm today for the first time and caught from the off after breaking the ice, small carp, crucians and skimmers for 7lb 7oz and second in the match. Really impressed, never had one fall off while shipping out to 13m and they stay on well when striking and missing bites.

Lanny’s Lagoon, Brinklow. It fished ok, 8lb 6oz won it and both end pegs blanked!!

TF_Daiwa proJust like to say i used the 4mm yesterday for skimmer fishing at 14.5 m and i have to say they are perfect and stay on the hook. i am glad i brought them and tried them out, there are very few expanders on the market which stay on the hook as well as these, well done Ringer’s~clap ~clap

greybeardParticipantI think we all agree they seem to be a very good pellet. My thread was mainly directed at size variation which other than MrFoxman has not been adressed. I reckon they have produced what I have always looked for which is a bloody good 8mm expander. Seems to be a need for another pellet to bridge the gap, there are a number of alternatives that could fit the bill but I (and Phil pressumably) dont want to mix brands.

dukeyParticipantI definitely agree they are a great expander. what i really like is they are so easy to prepare. even i can manage it they must be idiot proof

Yep just pump them the night before, stick them in a air tight bag and leave in the fridge.

dukeyParticipantYou can soak them anyway you like foxman. i have soaked them overnight in cold water and just squezzed them to make sure they all sink or simply pellet pump them. it only takes one pump to sink them. the real beauty is you can just leave them in water and they dont change consistancy. i am not sure you can go wrong with them
