Must confess even after many years on the bank I struggle when tightening up to the feeder or thod, I cast to the line clip but always seem to have a bow in the line necessitating numerous turns of the reel to get a bend in the tip.
I have seen other anglers put the tip under the water having cast and hold it there presumably waiting for the feeder to settle and the line to sink up to the tip?
I,m talking about still water fishing here rather than river where I don,t seem to have any problem in balancing the feeder and fishing a bow in the line.
Any thoughts on where I am going wrong would be appreciated.

Have a look at Drennan website, Alan Scotthorne mini tips /videos ” sinking the line” that should help.
