Hi, recently been fishing shallow, making good starts then blowing out. Have decided i need to feed less more often, trouble is when i have say 8 pellets in pouch they seem to have a mind of their own. Anyone recommend type and or tips? Thanks

Drennan match catties are popular. You can change the elastic to suit your style if you want & funnily enough their bungee pole elastic makes a good alternative. It is hard to explain but try the technique of pushing the catapult through so the elastic follows through to keep the feed tight.
What size pellets are you using?

4mm,i have the pole under my right elbow, hold the pouch in my right hand and push the handle forward with my left hand and then release the pouch. Does that make sense? 1 thing i can’t decide on is whether to hold the pouch itself or the string bit.

Hold the string & only fire 4 pellets at a time.

Forgot to say , if it’s a Drennan pult put a cork on the handle as they sink!!

The Preston Pinpoint catties are good aswell because they have a pouch that stays open, but they also sink too.

if you fish the pole dont think you can beat canal kings
try 3 or 4 but constant if the pellets have droped the rig depth feed again and keep droping the rig in to act the same as the pellets try 6mm course pellets
if fishing an island come away a metre or the fish cant back of and will spoke the swim
the feeding is the most important even feed when playing fish to settle and prime the swim

I’d go for a Drennan catty and use the softest you can get away with. Also, I’ve just changed all my catty’s over to the stiff pouches instead of the fabric type.
