A special celebrity Fly Fishing Day, which took place on 25th May at Lakedown Trout Fishery, Wealden Valley, East Sussex – owned by rock legend Roger Daltrey CBE – netted an amazing overall figure of £10,000 for The Children’s Trust.

Celebrity guests Phil Tufnell and Steve Sidwell took part in the charity event, alongside 60 fly fishing enthusiasts, including experts Rae Borrras and Charles Jardine. Particpants enjoyed a morning of fishing, before enjoying a lunch and a fundraising auction, conducted by Charles Jardine.

Kate Weston from The Children’s Trust’s Fundraising Department and one of the three organisers, said:
“On behalf of the Trust, I would like to thank Chris Dulley and Paul Sharman for their tremendous help in organising this event, our celebrity guests and finally to Roger Daltrey for his support. I would also like to thank donors, including Phil Tufnell and Steve Sidwell, who generously provided prizes for the auction which took place after lunch.â€
