Despite the strong cold wind we had a really good match today. There were 25 qualifiers hoping for a good draw in this big money match. It was cold and blustery with a strong ENE freezing wind but the fish fed well and once again over 100lb was needed to win.

Saturday’s Silver fish only match on the canal lake was also interesting. the skimmers seemed to be fairly well spread along the canal. The tench were fairly tight in peg 20 where the winner came from.

Easter Sunday match on M1
Water Temp 8.7°C and by the end of the match there was medium-level cloud and a temp of 8.9°C the wind was WNW and 15mph with visibility of 45km and the air pressure was 1013 hPa, and rising. Overnight lows were down to 1.7°C.
Well there is no accounting for why and how fish feed! Today there were 39 anglers on the bank which left only 3 pegs free on M1 and yet the results are some of the best that there have been. Participants were expecting a hard match due to the falling water temperatures, the colder weather and the number of anglers fishing the match but that certainly wasn’t the case, with both the carp and the silver fish feeding well.
