AnonymousAn early start Saturday morning for me and my bro (Shonzy 2) leaving Pompey at 04:45 and Ali W leaving shortly after to get down there for first light.
We got to chesil and there was a light fresh N/E’erly which was blowing over our heads… perfect.
We trundled over the shingle and started fishing big lug baits. Within in minute’s i had missed a good bite, re baited and hit it about 120 yards.
Same again, within minute’s line went slack and i landed my first codling this year 2-5-0 A mackie on the next rod and another codling on the other 2-8-0. They both had necked the 3/0 pennel’s so had to be taken home and battered.http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y225/shonzys/?action=view¤t=ArrronCodlingsjpeg.jpg
Ali’s rod went next bringing his first trigger which was a nice supprise and went swimming back

My bro’s rod’s were abit quiet still but not for too long as he landed his fisr codling this year, then another 30 mins later biggest 3-0-1, Same again they’d taken 3/0 pennel’s right down.

Bite’s slowed down toward’s the end of the day and Ali’s chance of a cod was fading.
He thought he saw a little knock but left it, a few second’s later his went again, he hit into it then landng 2 codling on a pennel rig, jammy $!”* These 2 were only lip hooked so went back to chomp up abit

He was made up after having his first trigger and a codling 2 years running. We wont hear the end of this for a while, like last year!!!!!
At the end of the day between the 3 of us we managed cod, red mullet, trigger and 2 mackie’s.
Not a bad day’s fishing, I’ll probably leave it for abit now as every man and his dog were there fighting for 17 miles of chesil beach!!!!

Pagham PirateAaron, which end f the beach were you, I fished Bexi Thursday evening and there was no colour in the water, I did manage one samll Codling of 39cm that was released to grow, right on sun down, rest of evening consisted of Poor Cod and Pouts with a Dover Sole which tasted lovely for breakfast yesterday.
As an aside as I picked my bait up from Dennings there was 2 guys in getting fish weighed: one had a 9 1/2lb Bass caught on a plug the other had a 2lb 1oz Trigger that was swimming round his bucket with an aersator, he then went back down the beach to release it, hats off to him. -
