No link but I was there and got the results…
1st Thorsten Beil – Germany – 40.770kg
2nd Mark Silman – Stainfoth – 37.530kg
3rd Bob Nudd – Wisbech – 33.820kg
4th Rudiger Hansen – Germany – 31.130kg
5th Richard Hoskins – Ross On Wye – 30.220kg
6th Ian Crossman – Numeaton – 29.970kg

Fished VERY hard!!

5 days fishing and not even 100lb first place ? I You can see why commercials have took over they have alot going for them I used to love going to Ireland I dont think I would go back not on a fishing trip.

Yes a lot of blanks around the place. The Roach run hadn’t started. However, on a positive note …. Anyone could win the £5000 first prize with a very good last day, easily possible if the roach had arrived or you’d sat on a large head of feeding Bream, which I personally found more interesting than the ass kicking I usually get on the commie fests which are designed for the pros to win (> 3 section wins required) and club anglers like myself not to!

Fair call Slopes. The classic is over 3 days as well not 5. Given the cold winter and late spring bringing the dates forward hasn’t helped this year. Reckon the Mahons and following weeks festv will fish a lot better.

But i think 40k is the lowest ever weight?

according to results book it’s the lowest except for 82-39kg and 83-30kg… but in 84 it was 107kg!! so next year should be good 🙂

Appologies its 3 days rather than the 5 days I said they dont count the knockups the King of the Erne match etc
