I have just made the move from club angler to open matches ( as some of you on this site will know ) and i am in need of some assistance.

I am ok at up in the water fishing to degree, but i am not sure if what i am doing when i fish on the deck for carp on commercials.

I was thinking of booking a couple of sessions with a pro angler or coach.

        Who would you recomend?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Andy May heard some great things about his coaching sessions plus he’s a great bloke too.

There is also Kieron Rich who i’ve heard good things about also

I think they charge roughly around the same aswell £20/30 hour or £200 for the day.

Yeah fourcanals, that’s how it works. Andy charges £30 an hour (worth every penny) If there’s a couple of you, he will move between you.
Andy’s a great guy, very approachable and friendly.

I think most coaching would be worthwhile. Its like most other forms of education; worth its weight in gold.

Naturally some coaches are better than others and there is a difference between a great angler and a great coach.

Have heard good things about Andy May but not fished with him. Have had days with Darren Cox and with Steve Ringer, both of whom were FANTASTIC teachers and immensely good blokes too.

GALPS, another option would be to bid for one of the charity auction “A day with….” that are on TF and some of the other sites quite regularly. That way, you know your money is also going to a good cause. The only thing is, you will need to beat pr@ngler and JohnH in the auction, as they have a bit of a monopoly on these things!

After another five years of continuous coaching I might be able to beat you Gary

Peter, you can only beat me if I actually manage to make it to one of the FRAC matches! Dad has a knack of arranging them for when I am on holiday.

That Brightmore trophy would have looked lovely in my flat as well…
