where i fish the p/w often dominates, the problem is the fish are wise and back off out of normal casting range and spook from the splash of a big waggler.i,ve tried slow sinking bomb etc but catch only occasional fish.Over the past months i,ve spent lots of money on low diameter lines, pellet wags with anti dive discs etc, taking in the claims of the sponsered experts, blah, blah blah.
Then an old guy walking around the pool heard me cursing about the latest crack off on the new all singing and dancing high tec line,”never had them problems in my day”,he said. His wise words made me rethink my whole set up.
        Back to basics -shaky mach 3 p/w rod-4lb maxima-4lb maxima clear hooklength-peacock waggler-tubertini hook.
Job done, no more bouts of swearing on the bank,A few hundred quid poorer, but just a little bit wiser. 🙂

And the same near us as well, when getting well battered by a guy with a big splasher next peg when suddenly his bites slow down, me I never rigged it up left it in my car.

so at 1.00 its off to the car get the trusty wag out with a big straight peacock on, ….. 5 fish in 5 chucks and went on to batter it……. but I have never been a fan of them semi self hooking rigs and always used the peacock, what goes around…. good for you some sense in all the CRAP that is CARP….
