        Guys,
I’m on my way to Cross Drove for the first time today. Not a clue how to fish it. What do I do at this time of year to put a few in the net? I’ve got some micros for feed, a few 4 and 6mm pellet for hookers, some dead maggot, a few bits of corn, and some maggot for feed. Where are the pegs to be on in the current conditions and what sort of tackle should I be using? All help much appreciated!

I haven’t been for ages to be honest but as you are off today I will tell you what I heard. Last I heard it was very clear and they were not liking the pole waved above their heads. Try a straight bomb with maggot and catapult feed over the top. That can work. Try and find some cover to fish to.

One critical thing at Cross Drove is plumbing up. There is lots of silt on the bottom and a heavy plummet sinks in giving a false reading. I am told that all the regulars now plumb up by pinching a shot on the line. Make sure you just touch bottom when fishing the pellet.
