If the idea of improving your practical fishing skills in the UK’s most beautiful countryside in the company of like-minded anglers, with help from local experts, then you’ll be pleased to hear that there’s going to be another week-long Cumbria Fishing Festival in the Spring of 2011, starting on May 14th. Lakeland is stunning in springtime and a visit during Festival week should appeal to non-fishing partners, too. There’s loads for them to see and do.

The Festival – a not-for-profit event – was created by anglers for anglers, with a programme of events created to improve angling skills taking place at a range of venues throughout Cumbria. The full program (including a number of new events) should be completed in the next fortnight but the website is now live at http://www.cumbriafishingfestival.co.uk. Interestingly, with no publicity to date, a number of events are already well on their way to booking up.

I’ll post again when the full programme is available
