TF_Tony 21Been looking at the Daiwa Interlastic kits a little while now as i use an original Tourney Pro with Preston pulla bungs in big bore kits.
Three questions I have are…Firstly would I be able to get away with just buying the section with the side holes in it ?, and use the big bore #1 in it ?.
Secondly I read that originaly Daiwa were suplying these kits with plastic protected side- holes as opposed to PTFE, and some people were having problems. I hear that since then they now come with PTFE protected side-holes. Is there anyway of knowing if you order online if your’e getting the new or the old kits please ?.
Lastly..what is the best wheel system at the mo?.. Maver, Preston or Drennan?
Thanks in advance. -

TF_wightangleri’d be interested in the inter-ext – not for its intended use – but as a 25cm extra 3 – is it light, and the same grade of carbon as say a t/pro or airity – or does it unbalance a daiwa pole?

TF_Tony 21I looked at the extention option too, and wondered the same thing.
Would also like to hear from anyone who is using these as it is a cheaper route, but is it the best ?
Thanks -

TF_badgerParticipantI don’t have problem with the BBKs (some folk do) and use them with the inter-elastic no3s, your correct regarding the bushes supplied with the original kits they were wearing hollow elastic out in weeks.I changed to the Trevor Jeens ones and I’ve not had a problem since, and I only use one hole I taped the other up. I can’t comment on the rollers as I haven’t tried them yet, but would be interested to hear other folks views.

TF_Tony 21Thanks Badger…good to know that the top section of the BBPKs fit, and were the bushes easy to change over ?.
On the other hand I do wonder if using a short section such as the “extention” option would put too much stress on the top kit while playing carp ?. Would love to hear if anyone is using these extentions ? -

TF_carpa22ParticipantGot rid of the top ptfe bush and fitted Frenzee Easy Glydes smooth as silk now.

TF_Tony 21Carpa, Did that need any drilling to the existing hole to install the frenzee ? I like the idea of no bung needed.. Does the little wheel keep the laccy away from the inner walls please ?

TF_Fred DavisAll diawa interlastic kits come with trevor jeans bushes the original kits didn’t how can you tell ? trevors bushes are white on the original kits they were grey that’s how you tell, although I would be surprised if there were any original kits still around, I use big bore kits with the interlastic number match number 3 and yes you can by the match number 3 on it’s own. Does it unbalance the pole, well I use an original spectron and I don’t have a problem fishing with the kits more modern stiffer daiwa poles should be even better.

TF_Tony 21Hi Fred .. i like yourself I bought the Big Bore Kits … I am now wondering about the inter~extention option in order for me not to have to replace the 6 x BBPK 2s i bought.

TF_wightanglerthanks for the reply Fred. Presume you mean the interlastic extension to a standard daiwa no.3?
Might interest a few daiwa owners to notice that Fosters are currently doing 3 x milo strippa kits for £124. And the frenzee easy glide bush snap fits in if you remove the fitted milo slot.

TF_dirkdigglerI’ve been using the interlastic no3 with a match no2 and it feels superb.
I too had heard the tales of the original bushes not being very good so I swapped them all for the middy pulla bushes. The hole needs dremeling out very slightly (be careful) and they are fine. -

TF_carpa22ParticipantI have fitted 5 of my interelastics with the Frenzee Easy Glydes, use the template supplied to mark out then a Dremmel 5mins job done elastic runs smooth as silk.

TF_Fred DavisNo I meant that you can buy the match number three section interlastic kit on it’s own and then put a big bore number one onto it, the number three interlastic match section costs around £50, I got 3 on e-bay for £45 from a dealer post free, I had only one big bore top kit (one & no 2 section combined in one section) so put a request for four big bore number ones ( I also wanted a couple for two number 3 sections where I had broken the number two match section) on maggot drowners as I know some lads don’t like them and prefer to use the match number two luckily a lad let me have the four brand new uncut BBPK1’s for £50 result 🙂

TF_simon-eI have just got 4 inter elastic kits(G20) and think there rubbish as they are so im looking at fitting vespe/colmic/preston roller or the frenzee roller.
Any recommendations on the best system for side pullers? -

TF_Tony 21In what way “Rubish ” please ?

TF_Fred Davisfit an internal maver roller bush and your view will be transformed

TF_simon-eWill have a look at the maver ones.
Tony i dont see the point of 2 holes and the bush’s in my kits are definitely not ptfe just rough plastic. -
29/10/2014 at 5:02 pm #173729
TF_Tony 21Sounds like you have got the old kits from what I read 🙁 . Just out of interest Simon…what colour were the fittings ? White or Grey ?.

30/10/2014 at 9:45 am #173686
TF_Fred DavisIt might just be the angle of the bush which sits at a right angle to the elastic although a lot of lads do use these without the maver roller bush but if you use the roller bush the change in elastic performance is incredible not only that but the elastic is centralised to both the pole section and the side bush so you have got the ultimate set up which can only be enhanced by a Trevor Jeans ptfe section aligner in the top of the number three section so when the joint bends under pressure you have a ptfe bush mid pole. These other bushes the lacy still sit’s at an angle or the elastic ain’t central, maver have got it right which is why Drennan have introduced roller bushes for their pullers.

TF_Tony 21Fred, Just wondering..even though I know you dont use them ..what do you think about the Inter-Ext route up the rear of a BBK ? I think Maver do the same for their own power kits too if I’m not mistaken.

TF_Fred DavisPersonally I think the length of the interlastic top kit for me is just right with the match top 3 and the bbpk1, I don’t cut these tips back to the length of a match top two and three kit but to the same length of my canal kits which is a match two and three kit plus around 6 inches of a number one this I find perfect, I dare say that having the interlastic extension will achieve virtually the same length of top kit I currently use however my top kits are less weighty than if I were cutting back then adding an interlastic top kit extension, horses for courses you use what your happy with, I like the match number three interlastic top kits are only two sections if you break either section both are available to purchase, unlike a power kit where you have to purchase both sections( imo a redundant bit of kit because of this) also it’s only a few more quid to buy the interlastic match number 3 than it is to buy the extention interlastic section, again do I want a three piece top power kit the answer is no, I like to get set up quick so two piece is what I prefer, I find I run out of time now setting up the kitchen sink definitely don’t want any minor issues to hinder my own ineptitude 🙂

TF_Tony 21Thanks Fred, The Ext is set permanatly on the BBK2 so it wouldn’t add to any tackling up time. They state it adds 25cm. My concern was any stresses it could cause.
You are right in that it is just a few quid cheaper, but over 6 kits i would save £60-£90 by going down the Ext route, butI am erring towards the full size #3.
Fred just out of interest, where in relation to the PTFE side-bush did you find best for the Maver wheel to sit ?, is it directly below ?, what sort of tolarence do you think would be ok ? -
31/10/2014 at 8:34 pm #173756
TF_Fred DavisAlan Dove asked me the same question as he has moved back from his browning pole to a daiwa and has invested in the interlastic match no3 & BBPK1’s kits and has also fitted the maver roller bungs, I have the centre wheel opposite the hole, you can measure the distance with the bung on the attachment rod and the bungs do need to be trimmed very short to get a good fit, however you may not need to trim so far back on the short extension the only other thing is make sure you locate the bung without twisting any elastic and jobs done.

TF_Tony 21That’s great Fred…Many thanks 😀
What Browning did Alan use? I thought he had sold his Daiwa’s ? -

TF_wightangleranyone – is the interlastic 25cm any use as a phex extention that does not unbalance the pole?

TF_simon-eThanks for the heads up on the maver bung Fred, fitted a couple and used them sat and sunday, they improved the elastic performance no end 🙂
