You will be privileged to know that I and my family will be visiting your country at the weekend. We are staying over Saturday night and intend to visit Alton Towers on the Sunday. But, can you recommend something to do on the Saturday and somewhere to eat on the Saturday night. We would particularly like to try your national dish of curry, so any recommendations in and around the Stafford area would be greatly received.

          How thick are you ?

Stafford is in the Midlands ! (and a very nice place too !)

Manchester is in the north but may be too classy for you ~think ~think The fish & chips are well good ! ~shh

When you come from Tavistock anything above Exeter is definitely Northern. LOL.

That is very true Steve, however I am originally from the royal county of Berkshire (I consider the queen my ex neighbour), so we consider anywhere north of Watford Northern. Dodge, thank you for your kind reply and recommendation of the great southern dish of fish and chips. Again may I kindly point out however that we really do wish to try your highly spiced national dish…chicken bhuna.

Also if you go abit further NORTH get yourself a flat cap and check out the whippet racing…..

Yes I was rather hoping somebody would mention whippets, is there anything else to do apart from GBH, arson or shoplifting?

Chris, if you’re in Stafford I would suggest the local restaurant from here:

                      http://www.panacherestaurants.com/

I haven’t been to the Stafford locale but the Lichfield one is just round the corner from me and I can thoroughly recommend. Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had, anywhere.

You could try studying a map

you could just stay in the south, do us all a favour and dont over crowd the beautiful north, however if you are insistent on coming up here just pm me and i’ll send you to some places in Sheffield where they just love a southern accent, honest.
