        sad to announce des passed away this morning losing his battle with cancer fished right to the end (WEDS) with plans to go to packington this sat
        great angler great bloke who’s enthusiasm for our sport was unparalleled, will be sadly missed by all

          RIP Dessie,one of match fishing great charachters & a superb angler,you will be sorely missed Dessie.If i had to pick one abiding memory it would be when Dessie was fishing staunton harold res matches,he said to me he was going to fish way out on his platform with xxxxl long legs,i said its not a good idea it drops off very quick & very steep,i’ll be ok he said….10mins before the off dessie who was 2 pegs up from me & sitting on what looked like a mini oil rig went off his platform head first,the silly bugger had only forgotton to screw one of his legs right up,i was in stitches,everything went in,he emerged out the water laughing his wotsits off,RIP Dessie.

            Des was one of lifes great characters…. a hugely talented man , a true tryer in everything he did. I used to work with Dessies brother Brett one of North Manchesters finest … say no more! massive LOL.

                          My sincere condolences to his family and friends.
                          Fished Heronbrook and Cudmore with Des,had some great laughs.
                          I think I might of beaten him couple of times aswell.
