does any one no the difference between the silver airity an the airity x45 i no the x45 is spose to b a tad stronger but how does the balance an stiffness compair :confused:

Interesting. Daiwa advise X45 wrapping on 9, 10 and 11 sections to create anti-compression zones.
What have they done to the 5 and 6?
Also interesting to read that the Airity now weighs more than the Tourney Pro X at all lengths. Have they applied further wraps of carbon to the Airity to strengthen.
Also the difference in price between Tourney Pro and Airity is very little at many outlets now.
I’m still holding off buying a new pole as trying to decipher the amount of bullsh*t on web sites and general lack of information from manufacturers makes the whole process a general ball ache.
The only way to truly decide is fish with the weapon of choice. Not easy done.
I currently use the original Tourney Pro and would happily stay with Daiwa if I could get an understanding of how their top range poles truly compare in strength, balance, stiffness and reaction rates.

Regulars on here all know my feelings on top end poles strength. The manufacturers are telling us nothing, reviewers on the mags don’t know either. I went back to using a 20 year old Diaflash I was so fed up of sections breaking on top end poles I had bought.
I thought I was just too heavy handed until I started using the pole I only bought for Drayton in its hey day. 3 years on my pro and pro x are in the loft and my sturdy Shimano has never flinched. I was persuaded to buy the Tri Cast trilogy by people on here and it has been excellent so far. Its £500+ cheaper than the top end Daiwas.
Just go to a good retailer and try them for yourself on the Tri cast you cannot compress the sections they feel solid to grip, the last Daiwa I bought was spongy and sections broke.
I have fished with top anglers for charity and some of these guys have been on the phone chasing replacement sections they have broken. I just think in chasing length, weight and stiffness that strength has been sacrificed. Its hard to measure of course but length is not and many 16m poles are not even 16m long!! We are being taken for fools IMO.

Don’t have any problems with the strength of the original Tourney Pro. Never broke a section in 7 years use and believe me I’ve give it some stick.
How do the new improved Tourney Pro and Airity, Air models compare?

Craig, you must have a much softer touch than you think! Very rare to find second hand poles that have not had repairs.
In fairness I do fish 022 line and 12 hooks for lumps most of the time so I am not your typical user.

ive never felt a pro x but i felt a airity an it was so well balanced , do any of u diawa guys ave probs with joints wrking lose?
