TF_Irk the puristsWell done to CK and the boys, Takes some effort to win a National…
Great result for Mr Killinger eh Edge, suprised that one of the bigger teams haven’t picked him up tbh cos he is quality…
Steve Butler and Barry T also top 10 but Wigan and Southport just came up short again.. Shows the quality of the other teams that they are up against…
Carl and Dave had good results though with Robbo pipping Dave to the individual National place…

TF_Irk the puristsWhat weight and how many points DC?
I’m in a minority I know but I love the ginormity of a National…
Only fished the last two years and the scale of it is intimidating… Would love to have fished them with 8 divisions and all the intensity…
Bring on the fossy!!

rich fishGood to see the local teams take the venue apart. Hard venue to get to grips with obviously stuffed with fish as shown if you drop in on your own. The Mosella boys had it spot on. Lost a lump at 14 metres on chopped – Elastic snapped (caught on brambles earlier on, not the finest match ever. Double caster theres always next year, we stayed up.

TF_wightanglerbrilliant result for team fishing-just when some have questioned the difficulty of being able to compate with the big 5 -this national again proves that hard work can still produce results for the smaller teams.Top stuff. Well done as well to NFA.

Cream of notts uniParticipantdid anyone notice the north-south divide in the results btw??
and which barnsley team were the “A” team so to speak?? because i was always led to believe the blacks were, but looking at the results and the teams, i would say B&D.a.a. were the first team. both did very well though. -

TF_slopesI’m not surprised by the north – south divide, that was a very expensive 400 mile / 7 hour round trip weekend for our team travelling up from the south with Fri night in digs, trying to keep the bait fresh. Practicing on the venue was beyond most of the teams pockets. Our aim was to not get relegated… which we acheived but only just. Will the divide be so apparent on the Huntspill next year?

Cream of notts uniParticipanti think it will be the otherway around next year mate for exactly the same reasons you have mentioned. just hope my team (hopefully with me in it having qualified) will upset the form book…

CastermasterParticipantThink i had one of the worst draws on the canal! E17 caught 10 little perch from down the side for 250g. Still beat either side of me, that’s how bad it was! caught in water literally just were you couldnt see the bottom, didnt have a bite past 3 metres!

CastermasterParticipantBTW always thought local knowledge with a venue like this is key… as it proved. Thorne, Stainforth Barnsley (District and Blacks) and Doncaster DAA all making top ten. The venue did seem to take a bit of a hammering with big matches in the few weeks before which didn’t help the quality of fishing on the day, and there were a lot of disgruntled angers on the banks as I walked to my car.
Lots of fish topping all over the place but not eating anything. a stray eel seemed to be the order of the day to get good points. Very difficult to make a net of small fishwas it the week before Alan Scotthorne blanked on there? if someone like that couldn’t catch anything we all guessed it would be tough for the rest of us.
