Comments :
Mr Martin Hancox of Coventry boated the 10lbs 00ozs rainbow at Rainbow Corner.
Mr Lou Brooks of the Forest of Dean took an eight pounder and Mr Nigel Keeber of Burbage had one at 6lbs 00ozs.
The 4lbs 8ozs brown was taken by Pirton boat angler Mr Ivor Jones.
A week of changeable conditions starting with flat calms and a thick green algal bloom, then fresh winds and cloud, then bright with a new wind and so on. The fishing has been harder, but by the end of the week the signs were much more positive. The bigger bags taken from the boats seem to indicate the fish are chasing again as the water clears.
Best eight fish limit was 30lbs 00ozs to Leicester boat angler Mr Rod Wilson. There was 29lbs 1ozs to Mr John Hoskins of Bromsgrove, 26lbs 4ozs to Mr Ivor Jones, 25lbs 8ozs to Mr Ray Cramp of Coventry, 25lbs 00ozs to Mr John Baker also of Coventry, 24lbs 5ozs to Mr Tony Waring of Kenilworth, 24lbs 00ozs to Mr Malc Randle of Bedworth and then 23lbs 8ozs each to Mr Peter Lynes of Worcester, Mr Eric Whale of Coventry and Mr Matt Grady of Kent.
Leading the five fish limit bag weights was Mr Jerry Gordon of Leicester with 18lbs 11ozs. There were also bags of 18lbs 9ozs to Mr Ron Blackwell of Leicester, 17lbs 12ozs to Mr Richard Yates of Coventry, 17lbs 4ozs to Mr Ray Bird of Nuneaton, 16lbs 4ozs to Mr Nigel Hamm of Hereford and 15lbs 10ozs to Mr Steve Winstone of South Wales.
Rainbow Corner and Toft Bay have been the best areas for boats. The Cornfield has probably been best for the bank.
