Last time I was there was about 4 weeks. Fished peg 12, on the straight lead with hair rigged pellet. Keep firing pellet over the top at about 30 meters. Gear up for them tho, I only had 9 fish for 84lbs (lost several) -

BearParticipantbodge earlswood is near the outskirts of Solihull come Shirley West Mids. It does hold regular opens on Saturday`s but not sure if they still do midweek ones.

AnonymousBear, forgot to mention. The method works just as well. Beauty about using straight lead and feeding pellet over the top is that you can try the big wag part way through for a change. If you do opt for the method, I would stay clear of using dead reds (the skimmers n bream love them) fish drilled 8mm/10mm halibut pellets

BearParticipantCheers bigfellow, do you ever use the bagging wag there and if so is that worth a shout?

AnonymousBear. I never found engine pool respond to the baggin wag. that why I stay on the deck either lead or method. You dont need to go far out either 25/30 yards
Don’t clip up !!!!!! Let me know how you get on. -

TF_Nigel.Spot on BF, just dont fish the method, you will have Bream, i had 16 of the buggers 2 weeks ago!
You need to set up a pellet waggler too, 185lb won on it this sunday. -

BearParticipantWondering what reel line strength you are using? I have got 6 for the Wag and 8 for method. Would you say this is ok?

AnonymousBear, whatever you feel confident in with handling double figure lumps. But you shouldnt be to far off the mark.
2/3 bags of 8mm halibut pellets. Drill a few out for the method/lead. Tight lines -

BearParticipantBigfellow, I had 6 carp for 45lb 4oz. Caught on lead as the wind was proper nightmare. Started on straight lead while feeding the waggler and had one fish and lost one, just came off after about 20 seconds. Then went on waggler but struggled hitting bites for some reason and the one bite I did hit I cracked off on the strike with a 0.21 reflo hooklink. I went back on the lead and had 5 more fish and another two came off again after about 20/30 seconds. I came 5th but one more fish would of easily put more 3rd and in the money. 59lb was 2nd and 80lb won it. Thanks again BF. Any ideas why I lost those fish? Maybe my hair was too long as later in the match I shortened it and that seemed to work.
