Just trying to work out my top kit options, I fish both commercials and rives, mostly rivers and drains though. I took all my number ones out of all my comp, match and big fish sensas tops, but feel they are a bit short for rivers (2.6m top 3, 3.9m top 4). A top 4 of over 4m is a better length for the rivers I fish, but too long for commercials so I am going to split my top kits up, I’ve got 20 afterall.
Not yet gone as far as commercial matches, still learning but looking at getting started on them. What top kit set ups to you use for commercials, how many of what strengths. My local commercials cover both f1 fishing, and full on carping.
Just wondering what sort of strength elastics people use for flat float fishing on rivers, as I’ve always used black hydro through a power kit presiously but my power tops are too short now. Also, what about elastics for tench fishing on the drains, which tend to be fairly weedy? Wanting to do everything with one pole for once, mind you might well be over complicating things.
