elastic problem

I’ve bought a new pole, and my match kits is 300cm long, and all elastics I use is 500cm long. This means that I’ve to throw away 2 metres of elastic for every top kit. Or can I use a short piece of line or something and then attach to the elastic? Anybody who has any suggestions?

bodde. general rule of thumb, elastica size 6 and under to be fitted theough top 2. elasics size 6 and over to be fitted through top 3. yes No.6 can be used both ways.
if you use 3m. of elastic for a reason other than the length of your top kits then cut to length and attatch a length of dacron or equiv.
