5lb 0oz Finbarr McSweeney, Rushden, damsel

        Brown
        4lb 2oz Mike Creamer, Oakley

        Best Areas
Bank – boat bay, East arm, lagoon
Boat – down middle, East arm, west arm

        Best Patterns
Damsel nymph, red or green diawl bach, olive cruncher, olive buzzer, red apps, tequila blob, red apps, olive or black hopper, olive or black shipmans, dry daddy, big red, big black, cdc buzzers.

Strong winds and a changeable wind direction caused sport to be slightly slower last week although the rod average was still a respectable 3.9
Most fish are feeding on damsels during the day, predominantly nymphs although a few are taking the adult. From the bank try a small unweighted damsel on a floating line with a jerky retrieve or a washing line with a damsel booby on the point and diawl bachs on the dropper.
Boat anglers are catching at varying depths. Mainly near the surface in the morning, deeper in the afternoon then off the top again late evening.
On most evenings we are seeing an excellent evening rise as long as the wind is not too strong although the action is mostly 9pm onwards. Fish are taking emerging buzzers and small longhorn sedges.
